Volkwin Mrüller is a German singer/songwriter, guitarist and author. He was exposed to various musical styles, most often pop, rock and jazz. He performs mainly in German clubs, and he was also seen by audiences from Switzerland and France. The covers for his albums are often made by Klaus Voormann – creator of the legendary and Grammy award-winning cover for the album “Revolver” by The Beatles in 1967. Volkwin performs and records solo albums, works in a duet (with guitarist and producer, Uli Kringler) or accompanied by the band Komplizen.

Volkwin Müller lives in Detmold, Germany. He is characterized by his dynamic guitar playing and his moving songs with subtle lyrics. In the concert, he plays acoustic and electric guitar, foot drums and sings. Thanks to his intimate instrumentation and his special voice, the songs experience enormous intensity.

I have been following the musical development of the German artist Volkwin for almost a decade. He himself deserved the gratitude for that, being always available to send me his new discography works. An exception was made this time because, without hesitation, he gave me his album from 2012 – Volkwin Müller & Friends – “Strawberry Songs“. Good music never gets old.

Album “Strawberry Songs” by Volkwin Müller & Friends is a passionate tribute to music legend John Lennon. There are countless The Beatles tribute editions in the world. What characterizes this release and gives it a unique value is the effort of the guitarist and vocalist Volkwin Müller not to follow the arrangements of the original releases for a single moment. He gave his own arrangements to the songs and thus made them unique creations. He completely succeeded in this work.

How much effort Volkwin Müller put into completing his work on the arrangement of these songs in a worthy way is evidenced by the choice of the fine artist, Klaus Voormann, to make the graphic display that adorns the edition.

To conclude that my judgment about this piece of music is extremely positive. This is primarily due to the artist Volkwin Müller, as well as to all his collaborators. Listen to this album, I guarantee it will capture your attention, too.
