ALEN BRENTINI – Biography
Alen Brentini – singer, guitar player, songwriter. Born in Rijeka (Croatia) on September 7th, 1977. Started playing guitar with 9 and became a professional musician at the age of 19. During his music career he has made many recordings and done live sessions with established artists worldwide. Somewhere at the beginning of 2000’s, he performed and shared the stages with many international acoustic master-class musicians such as – Woody Mann (NY, USA), Franco Morone (I) and others at some acoustic fingerstyle guitar festivals.
Here are some of the facts:
In 2006 Alen Brentini joined Aki Rahimovski Band. Aki being one of the most popular and respected Croatian singers. They did the Australian tour in 2007 and released a double album called “U vremenu izgubljenih“, for which Alen recorded guitars and wrote some lyrics. Album was recorded in Los Angeles / Zagreb and it features several amazing guest musicians from the USA such as – Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy), Scott Henderson, Joey Heredia and Renato Neto (Prince) along with some of the best Croatian instrumentalists.
First single release as a solo artist came out in the winter of 2006 under the label of Croatia Records. A few months later, Alen released a few more singles and took part in one of the biggest festivals in Croatia called Dora 2007 for the Eurovision song contest.
First studio album called “Treća dimenzija” was released on August 18th, 2008 and it was a promo supported by many TV / radio and live performances. The album contains 12 tracks plus a bonus video for the title track filmed in Sydney (Australia) during the tour in 2007 with Aki Rahimovski Band. It was released under the Croatia Records label.
In the meantime, Alen played with and supported some of the greatest musicians in this hard & heavy genre like – Richie Kotzen, Kee Marcello (Europe), Marco Mendoza, Nicole McCloud (Michael Jackson, Sting), Michael T. Ross (Liata Ford, Hardline) and many more. After this, decision was to write some new instrumental album and along with it, for the first time, started writing some songs on english too and went more into hard rock / melodic metal.
In May 2010, the second album called “Behind the walls of silence” was done. Alen wrote all songs, arrangements, recorded mostly all the instruments and did the production. The album contains 14 tracks and it was released only as a digital release.
In 2012 Alen became a full time member of Andreas Gabalier Band (the biggest Austrian pop star) and performed on some live TV shows in Germany and Austria. One of the greatest events that year was Bambi Awards for the best shooting star in 2012 in Dusseldorf (Germany). During 2012 did two successful tours in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and all the shows were sold out, including the biggest one at Wiener Stadthalle (Vienna, Austria) where has been filmed Alen‘s first live 2xCD / DVD which was released by Universal Music (Germany). Right after this, Alen went into recording / writing process of an acoustic CD / DVD with a Croatian singer / songwriter Ayra, released by Dallas Records. Alen did all the arrangements, performed instrumentally and wrote some lyrics / music too.
In September 2013 Alen went on another big tour called “Home sweet home tour“, with Andreas Gabalier. Performed 30 big arena shows in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland and recorded a live CD / DVD at Olympia Hall (Munich, Germany) in front of 13,000 people.
In the meantime, the whole new material was ready for another Alen‘s solo album and on January 15th, 2014 his 3rd album, “Soul’d Out“, was officially released by Install Records (Austria). This album contains 11 tracks written, arranged, performed and produced by Alen, and mastered by Ayra. In June 2015 he did an acoustic Summer tour in Croatia (60 gigs) and promoted the album.
On October 2nd, 2015 he went on another big arena tour with Andreas Gabalier Band all across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It was the “Mountain Man Tour” and has been filmed another live CD / DVD release at Berlin O2 World Arena / Mercedes Arena.
In December 2015 recorded the album “Cathedral of the Black Cult” for a Croatian black metal band called Black Cult.
On July 30th, 2016 Alen performed live at Olympia Stadium Munich as a solo artist supporting Andreas Gabalier in front of 72,000 people. Special guest was Michael Voss (MadMax, Casanova), who later became producer for Alen‘s new material.
On August 18th, 2016 Alen performed live acoustic with Eric Martin (Mr. Big) in Austria.
On September 15th, 2016 we performed / recorded an MTV Unplugged CD / DVD with Andreas Gabalier in Vienna at Odeon Theatre along with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Christian Colonovits.
On February 11th, 2017 Alen performed live with Eric Martin, again in Austria.
In March 2017 Alen went on the MTV Unplugged tour with Andreas Gabalier (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and played at the best theaters and musical halls in the world (KKL in Switzerland, Golden Theater / Berlin and so on…)
May 2017, created the acoustic project called “Soul’d Out” with the singer Karlo Horvat (Kryn). Filmed a few videos of some acoustic cover versions. Alen did arrangements, production and video production as well.
In July 2017 Alen played as a solo artist at some famous places like Waldbühne, Berlin, as a support act to Andreas Gabalier and later at Olympia Stadium in Munich, again for 72,000 people. Special guest was Claus Lessmann (ex-Bonfire).
On September 2nd, 2017 he performed as a solo artist to support Andreas Gabalier at Hockenheimring in front of almost 100,000 people.
March 2018 performed live at Music Messe Frankfurt along with some biggest names in the music industry (Guthrie Govan, Jen Majura, Jeff Waters and more).
April 2018 signed the endorsement deal with Ibanez, Germany, Elixir Strings, Breedlove Guitars, Germany, Klotz cables and Engl amps.
April 2018 created the project called “Something on 11” with Jen Majura (Evanescence). Wrote and recorded the album together and it’s still waiting to be realeased.
May / June 2018 recorded another studio album called “Black Tears“. Signed the contract with Mercury Records / Universal Music.
September 27th 2018 “Black Tears” album came out worldwide. Contains 12 new songs and 2 major guests – Jen Majura (Evanescence) on the track “Destroy what destroys you” and Andreas Gabalier on “Rock n’ Roll machine” (written by Michael Voss). Album was written and arranged by Alen and produced by Michael Voss (Michael Schenker producer).
October 2018 another big arena tour with Andreas Gabalier.
January 2019 writing / recording the album for “Something on 11” with Jen Majura in Germany. Wrote and recorded the album together. Ended up with 8 progressive rock songs still waiting to be realeased.
February 2019 shared the stage with Kiko Loureiro (Megadeth) in Austria.
March 2019 performed as a special guest with Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big, Racer X) in Austria.
Summer 2019 another stadium tour with Andreas Gabalier ended up with the final show at Viena Ernst-Happel Stadium.
October 2019 performed as a special guest to Danny Vaughn (Tyketto) in Austria.
November 2019 performed at Music Park Leipzig (Germany) again along with some big names from the industry.
November 2019 created acoustic duo with Berenice (Austrian singer, songwriter) and performed many acoustic gigs in Austria and Germany.
January 2020 went on tour with Eric Martin (Mr. Big) in Hungary, Czech, Slovakia and Austria.
March 2020, world collapsed!
April 2020, single “Bad Blood” (with 2 versions , acoustic and electric) came out along with lyrics video. Written and arranged by Alen. Produced by Matej Zec.
May 2020, recording another studio album called “Modern World” with band members Arsen Uran (bass) and Dušan Kranjc (drums).
